Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church of Downer's Grove, IL

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church of Downer's Grove, Illinois joined us from July 29th - August 6th. Their group consisted of 47 individuals from two Churches. Jeff Mikyska, Youth Minsiter of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and Marta Spiezio Youth Minister of St. Joseph Catholic Church were instrumental in getting youth and adults from two different denominations to come together for a time of work and fellowship here at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. This group did work on the Parsonage, the walkway to the Chapel, cleaning in the administration building, yard work and community work such as mowing lawns for local residents and any other work they needed done.
While this group was here, they met Father Pete Guthneck of St. Mary's Catholic Church here in Rocky Boy. Father Pete lined up some community service work for them. They also attended and led worship here at Our Saviour's and then attended worship at St. Mary's Catholic Church on the Sunday that they were here. The first night they arrived they went out in small groups and shared a dessert they had made with different families here on the reservation as a way to get to know new people.
